Well, I have been observing an exodus of the photographers covering events and parades from the Flickr last couple of years. Honestly I am planning to do the same thing this fall when my subscription expires. I don't like to pay for my pictures to be seen but to have nothing to see myself. Plus pretty much all the interaction except "likes" on Flickr is gone.

The question is where did all these people go?

Facial recognition is publicly available. It�s not free, but anyone with a credit card can use it. This a touchy subject, as I�m strongly opposed to using it to find personal photos of event participants and post them on this site. But I don�t want anyone to have any illusions that the issue has gone away. It hasn�t.
