Default Odd technical problem

I have suddenly found myself unable to download any mpg or mpeg video files over about 1.5 MB in size from this forum, or apparently anywhere else. Any ideas why this might be happening?

Thanks.

and also, have you tried clearing out your temp files ?

I right click then "save as". Haven't cleared out temp files - will give this a try - thanks for prompt response!

Okay - I've cleared out temp files, but still no dice. I've tried using Firefox and IE7, and basically the download screen comes up and just looks for the file indefinitely. No problems at all with AVI or WMV files. I am baffled.

Okay - tried a system restore to about three weeks ago, but nothing doing. Trouble is, I can't pinpoint exactly when the problem started - I don't download mpeg files that often. It's very weird - can download MP3s no problem, and MP4s too. Have searched via google for various combinations "cannot download mpegs", "problems mpeg downloads" and so on, and can't really find anything similar. Apparently McAfee's Safe and Sound can have this effect on IE7, but I've never heard of it, let alone installed it.

Any ideas at all gratefully received!
