Thursday night I got together with a group of old friends, tough to get all of us together but we’ve reserved Thursday before Xmas as a time to meet, drink bourbon, and talk about the old times. We all were born 1976/77, met our wives 1984/5 and we all met each other by 1980. Life took us to different parts of the country due to school, work, etc. but we are now all retired and live within a 50 mile radius of each other. Our meetups involve lots of verbal abuse, I always get shit for being the one who was always chasing women. A couple years ago, our friend Kevin insisted we all itemize the women we were with over those years. I was first at 45, a couple were in the 30s, the lowest number was 18. So we weren’t monks.
So this year, Kevin asks me “of those 200 women you had, how many were shaved?” I reminded him it was only 45, none were shaved, only two even trimmed. Polling the other five, only one had a shaved woman and he was the low man at 18. So I’m curious about other’s experience over the years. Here are my numbers. 1976-1985. 43 natural, 2 trimmed, 0 shaved. |

Wow, no where near your 45. I’m late 50’s now, so the experiences I’ve had are probably indicative to the time I became sexually active, and the age of women I have been with in their years. It’s what I saw in playboy and penthouse magazines and the porn movies of the time.
So, the total number for me is only 8. Starting in 1983. I have not been with a woman who has shaved or waxed off her pubic hair. Hair was more the fashion in the 80’s, into the mid-90’s. I’ve been married for 30 years. My definition of natural is not an “untamed Amazon”. It’s a thick bush that is not overly trimmed, but does stay inside the panty (or bathing suit) lines. Generally covering the labia, a triangle above the vulva, and maybe a few hairs trying to make it near her butt. Trimmed to me would be something groomed more like a landing strip, or cut back from the above, but not shaved/waxed off. For my 8: 6 were natural (including my wife when I met her, and to this day). 2 were trimmed. If I extend my 8 that I had sex with to women I’ve seen naked when playing strip poker or skinny dipping (including recently when the women are in their late 40’s to 50’s), then it would go to 20. 14 natural, and 6 trimmed. Granted, not members of the nudist community, just regular friends and family that ended up nude. Funny how you never forget a woman you see naked in real life. |

Before I married my wife I never encountered a shaved lady. We married in the middle 80s. The only woman I now see naked are at a nudist resort. There, just about everyone is shaved, even the men. It made me wonder if as many nonnudists are shaved. Or is it just being totally nude?

Age is definitely a factor here. I'm a middle-aged serial monogamist myself, with very few one-night stands. I'm not much into "body-counts"; but off the top of my head, I can count about 12, starting in 1989.
Back then women, for the most part, only shaved their bikini line. The goal was simply to not have hair sticking out from the sides of the bathing suit. I'll have to go by eras instead of an actual body-count. From 1989 to 1996, all were just "bikini-line trimmed." My first wife started out that way, but then went full shaven in the late 90's; mostly as a result of seeing this growing trend at nudist venues - and jumping on the bandwagon. After my divorce; and starting from the mid-2000's, it becomes a bit more "mixed", depending on the age of my partner. I had a younger partner for a while, who just had a tiny landing strip. I also had an "older" partner for a while, who was just "bikini-line trimmed." Then I met my wife, who was nearly 40 when we met; and also was just "bikini-line trimmed." She started shaving bald - also as a result of being a nudist. But by far, the majority of my partners were "natural." If I include nudism, then the trend becomes radically different. Most of our female nudist friends are shaven, or have a "barely there" landing strip. Regardless of age. Exposure to social nudity does seem to skew the average towards a lack of any pubic hair. |

I'm in my 40s now, and I would say in HS and college, most had landing strips or narrowly trimmed bikini lines... not sure of a better way to describe it, but maybe a finger width of hair on the sides.
In my later single years, I didn't come across anything but shaved. My age group of women was always meticulous with their shaving routine, and the younger ones had no problem with a fair amount of stubble at times. I always took it as a sign that they had been thinking/planning on something happening when they were perfectly shaved.

I mentioned my wife, who initially felt that being completely shaven was a "silly fad." As our participation in social nudism increased, her amount of pubic hair decreased. From a trim, to a buzzcut, to partially shaven; until she reached the point of eventually going completely bald. It had a lot to do with making nudist friends, and socializing with women that were all clean shaven. She started feeling that shaving was a part of the "nudist esthetic", and she didn't want to be "seen" as "unfashionable." I'm sure other women - and men - venturing into social nudity come to the same observation/conclusion; and shave - even if it's not something they weren't already doing. Which then contributes to the continued prevalence of shaven genitals at nudist resorts. From this, it's hard to tell what percentage of non-nudists shave bald. The nudist environment provides no indication of this, for the reason I mentioned above. But according to one survey: An informative study published today in the journal JAMA Dermatology surveyed a sample group of 3,316 women (age 18 to 65) and found that 62.1% of them prefer to have no pubic hair and many (59%) do it for pure hygiene reasons, whether through waxing, shaving or other means. In other words, if you see a non-nudist naked, there is a little over a 50/50 chance they'll be bald. If you see a nudist naked, there is closer to a 90% chance they'll be bald. My recollections from early 00s until quite recently were mostly lightly to heavily trimmed. I was / am always surprised to see references to everyone being shaved in the late 00s but maybe Europe were behind US, or it was only the 'trendy' women.
But last few years it definitely has changed! From observations at nude beaches and spas, it's now 75% hairless. Factoring in feedback from wife on friends and her changing room observations, still 50%. That's across all ages and only those fully shaved, younger ages and minimal pubes much higher. I would agree that a certain look is expected at a nude beach and so numbers may be skewed, but the spas I have been to have been in 'regular' locations and / or ski resorts where people are not nudists (it's just you have to take your clothes off to enter) and more likely to be their natural self... Still a very high % shaved, I'd say 90% of under 30s. I started a poll a while back. If anyone hasn't done it yet, please do. Latest average is 61% fully shaved. https://forum.oneclickchicks.com/sho...d.php?t=259624 |

I became sexually active in the early 00's.
Looking at the first time sex, out of five women, two were shaved bare, two were hairy, one was hairy with a light trim. The one who was hairy with a light trim was my first long-term girlfriend, and she started shaving bare after a bit more than half a year, and kept it shaved until the end of our relationship. My wife was bare when I met her, but she now has a full bush. I convinced her to grow it out, as I like a bush. During the first years of our relationship, she frequently changed styles: from bush to bare and back to bush, and everything in between, like a small triangle or landing strip, or keeping it trimmed. As said, she now has the full bush, but recently she has been thinking about shaving it again into a landing strip, as some of her friends in the gym keep it like that. She has seen that in the changing rooms and she likes how it looks, she thinks it looks classy and feminine. She knows I love her bush, but she has kept it for more than thirteen years now, so she said "Maybe, after such a long time, it's time for a big cleanup of my bush." So far, nothing happened, but perhaps that's also because it's winter. But she has been talking about it already a few times in the last couple of months. |

Her sister had a lovely bush (I got the accidental chance to see it a while ago) but wife said she waxed it for a vacation trip. I said maybe if I can see it, I can judge better if you should do the same. She didn’t fall for that, sigh. Ultimately, she decided to keep her bush. I make sure to keep reinforcing how sexy she is with it. |
