Default Darkskies Festival

I'm not sure this is still a thing, but it was some hippie festival out in Nevada with similar themes to Burning Man. But it is not Burning Man. I'm going to go ahead and repeat that, these are not Burning Man photos,s please don't delete.

Looks like relative to other similar events it's got a much better male to female nudity ratio. Almost all the men keep their clothes off, and almost all the women take them off. Great for CMNF, bottomless an OON.

(Again, NOT Burning Man)

Default Same chick

Minus the shirt and the hat. I'm a huge fan of the bottomless look, but this is the rare case where she looks much sexier butt naked than bottomless. The CMNF hug is great, but I wouldn't be surprised if that's her dad.

Are Burning Man photos banned on this forum?

If so I find that a very peculiar decision. What's so special about Burning Man, and please don't talk about the "integrity" of the event. If that is the reason why not ban Spring Break, Wet T-shirt, Concert Flashers, and Naked Bike Ride photos as well? I just really don't see how it's any different from any other event.

Obviously you have never seen the sticky post at the very top of this forum...

Burning Man is not a public event. Since it is a private event held on private property (for which you must pay hundreds of dollars to attend) it is well within the rights of the Burning Man organizers to control all photography and complain if that control is breached.

It's a sticky post look up top... but my understanding is, long story short, the organizers of burning man have requested that they not be posted.

Thanks for the info (I did not see the sticky)..... I'm not entirely buying it however. Are you telling me that for anyone who attends BM and takes personal photos, those photos are the legal property of the event organisers? That would never hold up in any court of law, and how in the world do people put BM photos all over their Facebook pages and other places without being sued?..... I should also point out Bars and clubs are also private property, but wet-t contest photos don't seem to be an issue.

I can understand the mods not wanting any potential legal hassells, and that it's just not worth the risk (or costs) that you might potentially have to fight it (even if you are within your legal rights).... I'm not gonna argue that "they should allow them" but I do believe the mods would be entirely within their legal rights to do so.... kind of sucks, but it is true that some things just aren't worth fighting for.

Back to the O/T I've never heard of this festival and Google wasn't much help. Does anyone have more information abou it? It certainly looks interesting.

one more comment about the dick wads at Burning Man...... when you look at what happened to that venue, going from an anti-establishment, anything goes event, to the most corporate thing even, it's not surprising they would use lawyers, bullying and intimidation, and shamelessly violate individual people's rights by demanding things that they have no legal right to demand, because that is what dick wads do...... and again that "private property" argument makes no sense. Houses and apartments are private property, but no one is arrogant enough to say "you can't post that photo because you don't own the house that it was taken in"...... I'm surprised they're not suing anyone who ever says or writes either the words "burning" or "man", believing that they now own those words, and that no one else can use them now.

So screw the Burning Man stuff, we really don't need it, but everyone should be aware of what arrogant dick wads they are...... They have no legal standing to make those demands, but like I said before- even when you are right, some fights just aren't worth fighting (and the corporate dick wads at BM know that and they count on it).

Sorry to drag on about this, but I do feel the need to add this point...... It is true that they have the right to control photography inside the event, but they have no right to control photography outside the event...... They can dictate when and where people take photos, or if photos are even allowed, but unless they have everyone sign contracts about useage and dissemination of images and media (which I'm sure they don't), they have right to dictate what people can do with their personal images and media.
