Default Help with photo!

I have downloaded a photo to my machine, it is a picture that was cropped. However when I open the folder in which the picture was saved I can see the whole photo for a few seconds and then goes to the crop version. Is there anyway to recover the uncropped photo from this picture?

Thanks

What program are you using to open the photo? I know that in Windows Photo Gallery, there's a feature called "Revert to Original" (Ctrl+R). That might help.

Thanks I'll try that, I'm not using a specific program to open them. This happens when I click the folder to open it in windows explorer. I'll try what you suggested and let you know if it works.

No luck with this! I'm running windows Vista and vista version of photo gallery don't seem to have that option. I went to the microsoft website and it appears that that option is available for the windows 8 and 7 versions.
Thanks anyway for the help.

I have Windows Vista with that feature. Do you maybe want to send me the pic so I can try myself?
