Default Help Downloading from Multiuploader

I am by far not computer savvy, but I know enough to get around. But Im pretty confused by my issue here and i feel its probably a simple solution I just dont know.

Whenever some posts a video that can be accessed from one of those outside download site I cant seem to get them on my computer. I have a pretty outdated apple. I will go to a "Multiuploader" type site, click Download now and the little download window on my computer opens up. I see the progress bar working, it gets downloaded and I try to open the file and it says "not a movie file" with the little quicktime logo. What gives? Any insight would be helpful. Thanks

Jaxon, i'm about one foot ahead of you in things computer, but as no one else has responded, I thought I might give it a go. Apple is by default designed to play quicktime movies, so anything you down which is not a quicktime file will get this stupid help message.

What you need, and i don't know if it is available, is a converter to switch your files to quicktime format. The how and wherefores of that I leave to you to search.

Hope that points you in the right direction.

Ally
