Request: Turtle Lake Resort, Michigan- Nudestock

They had a huge nude music festival back in the 90's. The camp itself was/is awesome. Does anyone have any pics of either?

Also, we entered a bodypainting contest in 98' and they had a photographer. My girlfriend had a huge fish painted on her stomach. They had the pics on the clubhouse wall for a long time.

We've gone there the past two summers to the "new" music festival that they hold. Didn't make the originals but I understand the ones now are barely a shadow of what they used to have.

No pics but would love to see some.

There's a lot of pix online on numerous sites. I'd post some, but even as a newbie to this site I've grasped the 'no watermarks' rule, so I'm afraid that all I can offer is that you search for them. I know that 'Nudes in the News' (at the Clothes Free site) certainly did one of their webcasts from the festival 2-3 years ago.

The concept is wonderful, as it seems to be a cross-generational thing, with old Woodstock veterans and Deadheads mixing in with new generations of tie-dyed younger folk. And having broken the ice with this post, just let me say 'hello' and introduce myself as a Brit naturist of slightly more mature years who recognises some of Pedro the Fisherman's locations. I'll be in one of them in a few weeks time, and I'll be certainly trying to contribute to the same sort of Pedro's themes on my return. NB: The name's 'Neil', not 'Nell', but having made the spelling error on the very first site I ever joined on the internet, I've kept 'Nell' as a username everywhere I've gone.

I shot a video there in 1999. Snif, I think I missed your girl by a year.

It was a pretty good time. Gerry Lewis and the Playboys were featured, plus Tommy Rowe and others. Blend of Turtle Lake members and public. Maybe 1,000 people. Lots of dancing and music and all ages.

It was an odd shooting in that cameras were generally not allowed except for the "house" stills guy. Allowing an outside video cameraman was interesting in that the members wanted a travel commercial and the company wanted a party video. The musicians wanted a music MTV style, and the outsiders all just wanted to be naked on TV. Parents didn't want their daughters (17 to 25) in the video, and the daughters took every opportunity to dance and stand in front of the cameras. I never has so many people trying to tell me what to do.

The event had just lost the name "Nudestock" in a trademark law suit and they didn't know what to call the show. "Nudefest" was the new name, but I they were really disappointed in the change.

The stills were all watermarked (sorry). The video was AMX Video #164 Nude Fest. I may try to get a torrent going sometime of the video as it was very unique in many ways.
