[Cheating] CHEATING WIFE. How painful is it or was it for you?

Before starting this thread I checked to see if anyting similar is already posted, but I guess not.
Many of us have cheated and/or have been cheated on. I am interested in the latter.
The question is: was it painful? Did it bring you to divorce, separation or other?
Add particulars to your story, we are in the non fiction section, so whoever comes here likes to read.

I start with a real story which I posted somewhere else. But it fits well here.

During a skiing trip many years ago my wife, then 28, met a younger guy in her ski lesson class (I was skiing by myself). He was two years younger, 26. An engineer. Quite good looking, I must admit (Keanu Reeves type).
Well, three days after they met she started telling me that she really liked him and vice versa.
“So what?” I remember answering. We had been married for six years, at that time.
Before leaving the skiing resort she told me the guy was planning to drive to our city (distances in Europe are not like the ones in the U.S.) to meet her again.
Then came the appeal to my taboo fantasy: “He agrees to do a threesome. But only after having been with me alone at least once”.
I took the bait like a huge salmon.
I authorized the meeting, dreaming of what would come later on.
But the threesome never came. Lots of excuses, then the news that the guy was moving to Paris, France, with his family (wife and 5 yrs old baby daughter).
My pride was hurt, but the affair was over.
Only a few months later she told me that Paris was a lie and that they kept meeting twice a month halfway between their homes. And they were planning to live together.
This did not happen because the guy’ wife, a German, was much stronger than myself in creating problems for the two lovers.
So the story ended. It surely was painful
If anyone wonders why we didn't get divorced, well it is another story.

My first wife was nothing but a cheating psychotic sl*t. During the 11 years we was married, she fucked over 20 guys behind back. She was also not very bright when it come to hiding things, it was very easy for me to find out about her escapades with other men. I was pist as hell at her and very hurt by it all, but I tried to still give her chances to straighten out because of our two kids. Unfortunately she was to stupid to straighten out. At one point during her fucking around, she was planning on putting me in the grave so that she could move a guy in, her plan didn't work out. I divorced her in 1997.
