The Bay Guardian is one of the local weekly papers. Every year (well, almost every) they have an article about nude beaches in California. Red White & Blue, the commercial nude beach just south of Bonnie Doon, closed a year or two ago, so there are probably more nudists at Bonnie Doon now. Gray Whale Cove (just north of Montara) has been free for a couple of years, and has an increasingly large non-nudist crowd as well as the nudists; the north side's a bit more nude. Baker Beach in San Francisco is as good as always. And there are lots of other beaches and inland places listed.
The real question is whether you're looking for beaches where you can go naked (which there are always lots of choices, and midweek you might have the beach to yourself) or whether you're looking for beaches where you can see other people naked (much less predictable, especially if you'd like to watch young pretty women as opposed to gay men or old hippies.) And the weather may or may not be cooperative.
And of course "nude beach" means much different things in Norcal than SoCal. Down there it means there are naked people on the beach. Up here it usually means it's cold and foggy enough that when you change out of your wetsuit into something warm and dry, nobody minds if you're briefly naked. Except, of course, for a couple of gorgeous days per season where it's warm and sunny and everybody goes to the beach if it's a weekend.
