Default I don't have sound with Windows media player.

I know my speakers are turned on...I get sound with quick time files and other formats. For some reason I don't get sound with any .wmv videos. I know it's some kind of configuration problem, can someone give me instructions on how to fix it?

Thanks.

1, open up media player
2, click tools and then options
3, click file types
4, click select all and the click apply.

If this does not work, try reinstalling your media player.

hope this help's

CP.

As silly as it sounds you haven't got the mute button pressed? down the bottom right i think in media player. It happened to me when I first installed wmp. Took about 3 days of head scratching and swearing before I twigged! doh.
