Back in the early days of HBO (early to mid 1980's, I'd guess), there was a show about vaudeville/burlesque that was repeated quite often. One of the skits focused on two "audience members", a husband and wife, who were having an argument. The wife was upset that her husband brought her to such a raunchy show (I think she says something along the lines of; "This show is nothing but tits and ass!"). The husband tells her to keep quiet, and stop making a scene, at which point the wife stands up to walk out, and the husband trys to pull her back to her seat, but instead "accidently" tears off her dress. She does a nice little EUF scream, covers up, and runs for the exit. It's a standard burlesque bit, but it's a good one. If I remember correctly, the woman is attractive and well dressed, possibly wearing a fur coat. She ends up in black bra and panties, with a garter belt and stockings. Does anyone know the name of this show (or better yet, have a clip)? If I could just remember the title of the show, I could probably locate a clip.

Was it a series or a one-off show?

I think it was just a one time show, but they repeated it over and over.

Oh my! I remember that! It was a Top Banana burlesque show. I think Red Buttons was like a celebrity host. The woman was wearing a fur coat. Her husband pulled it off tryng to keep her from leaving. I've looked for that video for many years.

Well, I'm glad that someone else remembers it. If you're right about Red Buttons, then it may have been; Here it is, Burlesque. That show's from 1979. There were a couple of similar shows at the time, but that one is probably the best candidate. Another bit I recall (though possibly not from the same show), was a woman dressed as Marylin Monroe singing; I Want to be Loved by You. Every time she got to the end of a sentence, her skirt would blow up. I think the bit ended with her entire dress blowing off (but that may just be a faulty memory).

After some checking, I'm pretty sure that; Here it is, Burlesque!, is the right program. The stripped woman in the fur coat skit would be very early in the show, probably after the first sketch. It's not a main act, and it's not even on stage (the two performers are sitting in the audience, next to real audience members). I don't think it's ever been released on DVD (just VHS), so it won't be that easy to find.

What else happens in it? I'm very tempted to buy it and transfer just based on what I've read so far but would like to hear more before I take the leap. It's not so much the 70 bucks as it is the hassle involved in VHS to DVD to .Mov transfers of this type that would hold me back. It really sounds like my kind of ENF stuff though.

I really can't remember much more about it, warrian. I'm also not 100% sure that it's the correct show (though I am about 90% sure). Other than the "fur coat" girl, which was a really great EUF bit, the rest of the show is a bit hazy (30 years of haze, to be exact). Lots of comedy acts and striptease type stuff. The Marylin Monroe bit was good, if it's actually in this show, but it's probably not worth $70.
