1) I have a typo in a post. Is it possible to edit it?

2) I tried to send a private message, but it seems not to have been sent. If I look in the "sent" folder, it is empty. Why?

You can edit a post up to about 15 mins after you've posted it...after that, nope.

I guess that explains the first question, I thought at one point I saw an edit icon. Thanks!

Exactly. After that, you can "report" your post and ask a moderator to make the edit.

As for the second question, I don't think there's any limitation on sending private messages. The system will only save a copy of your sent message if you select that option. Look at the "additional options" box underneath the private message window. You can request read receipts, along with other selections there.
