OVer time, most pics (if they are popular) lose their original identity, or filename. Its too bad since having it can make it possible to track down the source and maybe find more pics. But there are lots of good reasons to change a filename too, and I do it frequently.

My dup checker compares the image itself, not just the name. I do not expect that even a small fraction of the dups it finds will have the same filename. And people upload pics all the time to OCC that have been posted already under a different filename. They likely are posting it as they found it, not renaming it.
