Naked joggers prompt Portsmouth police call

PORTSMOUTH — A 3:30 a.m. game of strip poker resulted in a police call Monday when officers responded to Islington Street for a report of a woman running naked in the street, said Lt. Rodney McQuate.
According to the city's public police log, a Greenland officer reported seeing a nude woman running "down the street" and described her as a white female with light brown hair. McQuate said, when officers arrived at the Islington Street area, the woman and a naked man were found hiding behind a fence and said they'd lost strip poker bets that required them to run around the block unclothed.
When responding officers went to the apartment where they had been playing cards to retrieve their clothing, they found "other half-naked people" who were "not shy," McQuate said.
The naked joggers' clothing was retrieved and given to them so they could dress, and they were both given verbal warnings, McQuate said.
