Yes, there was something so hot about a woman being stripped to her unmentionables back then as opposed to now. I guess it comes down women's underwear wasn't meant to be seen back then. For instance, women would never wear a tank top with their bra straps showing in public back in the 80s. So seeing a woman stripped to her conservative undies was a big treat. But I digress. That's almost a topic unto itself.
I agree that ultimately the scene probably would have cheapened the film. But I wish it were at least shot and included on an extras bonus somewhere.
And judging from the trailer, the new Ghostbusters movie looks terrible. *lol*
