I'd suggest that these women film these thugs with camcorders a/o camera phones - ideally, the better/more high-res the better - in the act of harassing them. Thugs don't like being photographed while in the act.

Snapping the Bully snappers is a great idea that might be a big help on the London ride as well as on the nude beach.
As I mentioned in my post, the nude natives at my favorite beach are getting restless. There are, at least, two websites that have been set up to carry pictures of the offending snappers and thugs. The beach regulars are also setting up twitter sites, and SMS relays so that beach flash mobs can quickly form around any offending thugs while waiting the few minutes for the police also to arrive in force.
There have been calls for making the beach "Mandatory Nude" instead of "clothing optional" since most of the problems come from hero's too ashamed of their bodies to even wear normal bathing trunks, let alone go fully nude like almost everybody else.
The problem really is that these thugs often discourage the young women by intimidating them on their very first visit to the beach, which is very large. Newbies often set up off by themselves for privacy, and it is those admirable older women regulars who seek the newbie young nudes out, and invite them into a protective group and explain the situation to them.
By the way, the beach is full of current and former military, police and fireman, big strong guys who would rush to help any damsel in distress in a heartbeat. But they have to be aware of it. More than once the thugs have had their cell phones and cameras thrown into the ocean, where they were also too scared to go fetch them, probably because they are afraid of the waves.
Most of the time, this beach is peaceful, quite, friendly and lots of fun. Unfortunately, these thugs are like sand flies that buzz around just enough to ruin the overall experience. However, they have a lasting effect because they scare away the young women permanently.
As far as encouraging the nude ladies riders in London goes, Pedro hit the nail of the problem on the head:

These guys (pretty much 100% UK born I would say) seem to treat as some kind of 'ritual' of bravado to get as many close up shots as possible.

they seem to think of as a bit of an 'easy' type of girl (I would say the opposite is in fact true) that is there for the purpose of proving how much a man they are!

What makes these WNBR events so appealing is the fact that the women are NOT the "Easy" kind. These guys don't understand that "Easy" women are easily seen nude in person at their closest strip club, and these riders have normal jobs, and are otherwise normal wives, girlfriends, sisters, cousins, nieces etc. who do this once a year, often for a cause. So, the WNBR organizers should really set up a way to communicate this cultural reality to these offensive snappers who don't get it. It's a public relations education problem.

some time back they overheard a group of such blokes making very loud sexist and derogatory comments about British women's bodies, etc.

Yeah, the clowns on the beach say the same kinds of things as they stand there cowardly covered almost from head to toe. The comments are probably their own insecurities coming through.
Possibly, a group of "Snap the Snappers" video guys can be organized for next year's London ride to give the women riders a boost. Possibly, the offending snappers will tone down their nastiness if they know "they" are being fully recorded and will have "their" images posted.
In the few posts on this board there have been some interesting suggestions on how to better deal with these characters who are discouraging women from fully participating in an annual event we all look forward to seeing on this website. Let's hope somebody who can make improvements hears them, and does something while there are still enough women riders left to keep it going.
I have mentioned in other posts, how many of the former regulars were missing from the London ride this year.
And let me apologize for writing too long and seriously on a board and thread that should be about fun pictures of women we love to look at. But, as Pedro mentioned from being there in person, there seems to be a real threat that within a couple of years women will stop riding in the London WNBR because of these guys.
It is a problem that can be solved, and it is in everybody's interest to solve it. Let's hope somebody who can make meaningful change gets the message. And now lets get back to all those great pictures. Enough of this serious stuff already !!!!
