What I do like is the unobstructed view of a smooth-skinned pussy. The curves, the folds, the creases, and the flowing juices. All completely visible for savoring.
What I don't like about hair is the interruption of passion to deal with an errant hair in the mouth, which must be dealt with before it catches at the top of the throat and causes a longer interruption to the passion. I recall several times in my younger years when a lover's mouth was removed from me to deal with hair. I never liked the break in the flow, and hated that it was me bringing her this inconvenience as a result of her effort at pleasing me with her mouth. I learned early on to keep things smooth and avoid the issue completely. I figure women that keep smooth do so for the same reason - among others.
So, for me, it's not about the hair itself, but what it obscures and the inconvenience it brings.
