Take a look at this girl. I think the difference between this year and last years Fremont Parade might have been one of attitude and the timing of the rain. In both years, the weather was bad, but last year at the painting party, I don't recall that it was actually raining. It was only raining later at Gaswork Park. So at Hales, girls still came outdoors after getting their paint job and milled about in front of photographers. This year, due to the chilly drizzle, they all seemed to stay inside until the last minute, exiting only when told the ride was about to begin. Probably many had expressions like this one when they first tested the weather outside. But for me, this meant that the painting party was pretty much of a bust in terms of photos. ONce you are on the road, rain or no rain, you must continue and you keep warm thru your cycling. But given the choice between waiting inside or outside before the ride starts, most I think would opt to wait indoors with this kind of weather. The result, unfortunately for me, was few pics from the painting party this year and her expression? Kind of a "grumph" and "yuk"......that says it all..
