I've been down that cliff before and it's a killer. But what I don't get is how she got so far off the path. The trail is pretty well marked; she must have been trying to blaze her own trail.

Going down was scarier because when you take a step, you're stepping in the direction that gravity wants to take you, and you feel like you're falling. Going up is less dangerous because you're putting your weight in to the cliff, making you feel a little more secure. But it's extremely exhausting. I barely survived 20 year ago and couldn't even think about doing it today.
