You should learn at least a little about the Yawalapiti... As in many Amazonian tribes, they almost always have the habit to pluck all their body hair (especially for women, and in most tribes men do that too). And it has been like that for ages.

And, they also very often use body painting in ritual celebrations, sometimes even in daily activities like fight training (mostly for men in fact, women generally wear body painting mainly for ceremonies, because an important aspect of their rituals is that it's a time when women are supposed to act the same way as men, so it's a way to blur the usual gender differences)
