There's one article I'd like to scan and post here (assuming I figure out my scanner issues) because I found it a disturbing but fascinating look how some people thought back in the 1950s.

The article was about the "negro problem" and whether naturist clubs should admit people of color. Although he wrote in a calm, reasoned manner, the author exposed himself as rabidly racist. He implied that the only reason blacks would join would be to look at white women naked.

I was aghast when I first read it back in the 1980s; I couldn't believe that people thought that way, and if they did, that they could be stupid enough to put their thoughts in print.
