One idea I had was that, since the sprites (or skins, or... please pardon my ignorance) are painted deliberately, and (as you noted) lack "E," they might belong in Amateurs? Unless they were done by a professional, of course. That would be a whole extra monkey wrench
Although without perfectly simple means to make a sub-category, or filter, RSlike might be best. But I wanted to throw in my 2¢, and now you know you weren't ignored. Not entirely.
