I believe it was actually Superboy involved in that particular "rescue". There's also a couple of scenes in his comic series that came out after Superman's return, shortly after he was given a visor that allowed him to access various of Superman's visual powers (yes.. a teenage superhero with x-ray vision)
1) On first getting the visor he accidently uses it to see reporter Tana Moon's skeleton, until the Professor who gave it to him tells him to not focus so much. After a few seconds she realises what this involves and covers herself.

2) Field trip to a Hawaiian beach where, being the superhero he is, Superboy checks for concealed weapons on the various bikini clad girls on the beach using the visor's X-ray mode.
