The event is great. A mass of skin takes off on cue. It is naked madness. It is mostly male (like most nude events) but there are many females too. Prizes are awarded in many age/gender categories. This year it rained but it was still a good time. The textile spectators didn't stand out as most people were clothed due to the weather. 2009 was warm and sunny and most of the spectators were nude. The beach is a great place; full of life. The venders are there everyday. It's like a city within a city with a culture of its own. Love it. And yes, the run is, I think, the only time where cameras are in the open. Except, of course, for Wreck Beach Day (and the skinny dipping world record attempts) when hundreds pose for a group shot.

The photographer is freelance and, I believe, he sells photographs to chinese language websites and newspapers; In Canada and Hongong. I gather he is Canadian but I never spoke with him. There are other non-censored photos of 2009 and other years including ones taken at the finish line. Watermelon is a local celebrity and she was very good at motivating the runners.
