When cameras first went digital, I had an early model point and click type thing, and had quite a bit of luck shooting from the hip with it, at local UK beaches and when I was away in Spain or Greece.

You just cant do that now, they have all caught on, Pedros type of shooting is the only way I can see getting results. In fact here in Ireland, and in the UK where I am originally from, Phones are treated with even more suspision, at the little Naturist area I attend, just getting your phone out for a call is viewed with suspicion. I dont know if its different in the US but one you should check is the shutter sound, on my phone you CANNOT turn it off, but if its socially acceptable to walk around with a phone in your area, and you can turn the sound off, go for it !
