[Pedro the Fisherman]

I've never owned one of these cell phone cameras, but I'm looking into it. Suppose you are on a beach that has vendors or anything for sale. At Wreck Beach, I often walk around with my wallet in my hand on my way to get food or something. So could you cut a few holes in a wallet, stick the cell phone in there, and walk around snapping pics blind (but at close range) undetected? At Wreck, everyone is at close range so you'd be bound to get lots of good shots - just point anywhere and you'd at least get a boob or two in your pic. Just pull the ol' "I'm looking for a vendor" routine.

"Lets see......(click).......are there any vendors over there?......(click)........nope..........mmmmm.... .....(click, click).......maybe over this way?.........(click)........man, I'm getting hungry......"

I have tried the 'cut a hole for the lens' thing when I started, it's terrible! You get back to the car and find you have loads of blurry photos of nothing in particular! You need to see what you are taking, at least the area, if not the subjects. I try and set the camera up on an area and hope someone uses that part of the beach. You can then push the shutter button whilst reading or even looking away from the subjects. The best time is when they return from a swim, as lying down, they are harder to shoot and less flesh is on display. I envy the guys where everyone walks along the shoreline, you could set up and click away all day! Here, the sloping beach and static (apart from swimmimg) nature of the beach users makes it harder.

Anyway, I have waffled (and grumbled) enough for now, so it is time for some photos! I hope these are good enough quality for the 'fussy' members, they were taken using my newer 10mp camera with a 5x optical lens.

As I have said before, it is not possible to get any closer, without risking being caught. These girls were a little suspicious already, as they (not suprisingly) were attracting a fair amount of attention from single men. The guy who will creep into shot later at the bottom right nearly cost the whole shoot. I decided to press on, but he was only a few feet in front of the camera though. It would have been very easy for him to tell the girls what I was up to, had he seen the camera. That is what this sort of stuff is all about, not making sure my photos are pro quality!
