Default Evel Knievel Snake River Canyon Jump

I am not sure if this was intended to be crowd surfing, but that is how it ended up. These are shots from Evel Knievel's unsuccessful jump of the Snake River Canyon in 1974. I always thought it was erotic. Streaking was in vogue. Apparently this young woman was streaking along, when the crowd decided to have a little fun. She does not seem to be having quite as much fun.

The color picture carried a caption "The bike crowd conducts its own launching." Sports Illustrated wrote "At one point a naked young lady mounted the shoulders of her gallant escourt and paraded through the crowd for the delectation of the multitude. Another nubile nude was hurled over the fence into the press compound." Time Magazine said "Bikers and their women stripped naked and drove through the fires on drunken dares. . . On launch day, screaming crowds aurged against the chain-link fence that sealed off the press and VIP stands. Outside the fence a biker raised a homemade sign: SHOW YOUR TITS. Several girls obediently shed their shirts and climbed abord their boy friends' shoulders. A group of bikers hoisted a naked woman aloft and tossed her over a fence into the press compound. One girl stripped and, encouraged by the crowd, performed fellatio on her boy friend while he shouted: 'For you, Evel!. For you, man!'

Presumably, this is the referred to naked woman who was thrown over the fence into the press compound. It looks like she was streaking since her clothes are in her hands rather than on her body as they are being pulled away. From the looks of the picture, she had little probability of holding on to anything for long after these were snapped.

Does anyone have or know of any other pictures of this event. There must have been lots of cameras around.
