Either way you described is fine and would not break the rules. Personally, I like the two thread method (with links to each other) but it's simply a matter of taste.
It is okay to include videos in
.ZIP or
.RAR files only when they are posted in the video forums. We don't want people to try to circumvent the forum rules by posting videos archived in
.ZIP or
.RAR files in the photo forums.
