The picture in question, especially if a copy of it was signed by Ann Margret, is probably just some serious cameltoe. As it was in the 'sixties, if she had been bottomless, there would probably have been hair, and as she's a redhead, it would have been obvious. For this picture, I would vote cameltoe, and for the 'urban legend', probably fiction.

Ann's not a real redhead. She's a brunette (yeah, it's a B/W photo, but trust me, her hair is dyed).
