[Klondike]

there is a little story surrounding the two pics below, and they involve OCC member Sal32. Pic 1 is from Sal's Flickr photostream. Note in the pic how unusually tall are the buildings in the background, making this possibly the most impressive skyline ever to grace the background of a naked beach pic. But it isn't naked.......not yet......

then along comes this second pic that I pulled from Flickr today. I stared at it hard. Haulover? Man, look at those buildings in the background! And then it dawned on me that I had seen that skyline before, and that it was in Sal's photostream.

Sal is from Australia, and so is that skyline. Hard to believe if you are from the US and think everything big occurs here. The beach is called Mermaid Beach, and the town - Surfer's Paradise.

Surfer's Paradise? yeah, THAT sounds like Australia, but with a skyline like NY? Featured in that skyline is the worlds tallest residential building, Q1

EDIT: sleuthing pic locations enriches the web surfing experience. Thats the moral of this story.
