Klondike: Your cut-and-paste tip does work, but I was really looking for the actual letter, so that I could just type it to substitute for my "у" character, since I've seen some cases where things might be "spelled" both ways, and thought I'd try the same thing on other words - a bit like how we've seen Khan Altay as well as Khan Altai.
As to the "other word," I think yours, rather than being "naturist" instead of "naturism," is actually an alternate spelling/transliteration of "naturism," as is "naturisme" en francais or "naturismo" en espanol: "naturist" seems to be натуристы. Here are a couple of Ivans; sorry for the pubic pixellation in the latter...
