I think it's a power fantasy. Of course it differs for everyone. Even as a little boy, I was fascinated by the rush of seeing the sexually forbidden. Without getting too psychological, I see this as a response to America's rather uptight, victorian view of sex. Nudity is very private for everyone but "porn stars" and "hippies."

The titilating knowledge of a woman's naked appearance is reserved for her lovers, and so it's a kind of commodity. Getting an eyeful of a woman who doesn't want to show her body is therefore kind of like stealing from her. At least that's how it feels, and so the power fantasy comes into play. The ENF lover's fantasy is of having access to anyone's nudity, whether they like it or not--perhaps moreso if they don't like it. That control aspect of it is what distinguishes ENF from good old amateur erotica.

I remember when I was in 7th grade, my best friend showed me nude pictures that his dad had taken of his mom. It happens that his mom was my teacher's aide, and a very prim woman. Every time I saw her in class her after that, I chubbed out on the power I felt over her. Physically speaking, she wasn't terribly hot, but I got turned on because I had something over her that she didn't know.

As such, it's possible to see the ENF/voyeur fetish as a pathology, as a social sickness. I tentatively agree, but I would stress that as long as ENF lovers don't hurt anyone, their kink is pretty harmless. If we all grew up naked and were totally casual about it, ENF wouldn't make any sense. I see ENF as a symptom of sexual repression in a context of status mania. ENF lovers don't want to take "no" for an answer, but we're also not inclined to physically enforce our desires. As long as it remains non-aggressive and non-obsessive, I see ENF as a harmless release from a social constraint.

Thanks for the great question and posts so far.
