The images you see are a zoomed crops (usually about 30% of the original), add to that the conditions of glare and reflected light, any camera would struggle......when it is hidden inside a bag!

Alas, free thinking though these girls are, I for one would not dream of openly taking photos of them. I take enough risks already. I doubt if anything on the market would improve things much, an SLR type is out for size and even most compacts have an external zoom....think sand!

My reluctance to get close up is my main failing; if anybody else has any suggestions, I am happy to shoot them down

In a perfect world, you'd be able to use a better camera and we'd get to see these lovelies in perfect quality images. But even with the limitations you've described, they're still pretty much the best beach candids I've seen on the net. No complaints from me... ever.

And who knows, it probably won't be long before technology solves all your issues and we do get to see these girls in HQ...
