And well, to tell you the truth her legs are on the fat side, and her head's kinda big for her body - and I can't understand a word she says into the bargain!

In case anyone's new to this thread, I'm talking about Machiko, who I discovered while lurking at this thread. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only ENF fan knocked out by this anime. Why couldn't we have had cartoons like this in the west when I was young?

Anyway, first a million thanks to darkwarriorofkane and others who posted the vids and caps, here and at youtube, that enabled me to get into this series. Also if someone wouldn't mind helping me out, a couple of questions from someone a bit new to such stuff:

(a) I'm pretty sure this puzzles any non-Japanese speaker who sees this strip. Just why is it that Machiko allows Tentako and the other kids to grope her boobies or flip up her skirt, seemingly whenever the mood takes them? She seems powerless to prevent it, neither does she seem to bear them any ill will. Obviously there's something I've missed just seeing the visuals and not being able to understand the dialogue.

(b) I'm also intrigued by the posture she adopts whenever someone does fondle her boobs, or rips off her swimsuit, or whatever - she sort of turns away from the perpetrator and kicks one leg into the air behind her. Is this some Japanese symbol for shame, or embarrassment, or modesty, or is there something else going on I'm too thick to understand?
