Yeah, I forgot to mention in my earlier post. I did find a flickr album of the NYC ride. The photographer was obviously a gay, and it appeared that many of his subjects were as well. Lots of pictures of skinny boys in thong underwear--and no women I could see, even in the background. At that point I gave up searching.
I agree that it's surprising. Hipster culture and bike culture are pretty much synonymous, and with Brooklyn being the hipster capital of the US, I figured they'd make a strong showing. Then again, maybe they were afraid of how they'd look without their skinny jeans and extra medium tshirts.
