It's not hard to trace facebook photos back to their source using the filename. The only problem is that unless the photo/gallery is public or you're friends with the poster, you're still not going to see the pic. In the case of the Renn Fayre pic above, the filename is:

4295_1148788676453_1129650080_30483582_6808515_n
(with the old format it would have been something like n1129650080_30483582_4295)

and the image location is:

http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pi...&id=1129650080

As you can see, this gets you to an error message saying "The page you requested cannot be displayed right now. It may be temporarily unavailable, the link you clicked on may have expired, or you may not have permission to view this page." In this case I assume the latter is true, because this trick works for any photo I've saved which I have permission to view.

In light of this problem, I'm not sure how useful it is, but who knows, maybe some folks out there with good photos are keeping them public...
