I'd say this one was leaked out, and there had to have been a reason to do it. The vid may have been taken by an amateur, but not this pic.
The guys shirts say "autodesk". Autodesk is a company that sells 2D and 3D design software. Was this a promotional stunt by them involving two babes with obvious assets that would ensure millions would view and download the pic?
Flanker7 wrote that they were there to distract the orange Autodesk runners who were leading the pack at the time. That may be, but then why the pro quality photo of which myteriously there is only one, and wouldn't that be damning evidence of race tampering? Also, I don't believe that a group of dedicated runners would allow themselves to fall back in the pack simply because of a few well endowned babes. All the racers know that they may encounter nudity somewhere along the way.
just curious -

Regarding whether or not it was taken by a pro, I can say for certain it was. When I originally found the photo, the flickr account linked back to a SF "city life" blog/guide that was definitely not amateur. It was filled with SF-related ads and had a lot of content. I don't remember the details otherwise I'd try to find the site. Anyway, the photo was the only nude one on the blog, which had tons of other NN photos of the race.
Based on that I don't think the photog was in cahoots with the girls. The blog was relatively mainstream and I don't think it would have been a promo for the blog itself.
I know I already said this on the other thread, but as to whether or not it was a promotional stunt, I sincerely doubt it since none of us have any idea what they're promoting. They're not carrying any signs of have anything painted on their body.
Actually, I do recall that you can see in the video that they have nike swooshes and the slogan "just do it" written across their backsides in crude marker (definitely not professional bodypaint). Since they're obviously not being paid by Nike, I would think this is just a bit of a joke.
As you mentioned Klondike, I'm definitely of the opinion that their motivation was that of any streaker, to get some attention and have a laugh. In the pic they're toying with the Autodesk team, who won the team competition, and in the video they're out there toying with the Kenyans that won the whole thing.
Anyway, I not only find that the most reasonable explanation, I also find it the most fun, so I'm going to stick with it.
