If skinnydipping is swimming/wading naked, and that's my definition, some pictures in all the other types you mention would fit.
When at summer camp, on an "overnight hike" barely a mile from our cabins, a half dozen of us swam without swimsuits in the creek;
When my uncle took me to the Y to play handball, and afterward we swam in the pool between taking some steam and getting dressed;
When I returned from first term at college to find my parents had moved to suburbia, and the divorcee next door took me, her high-school daughter and a friend across "town" to a house she knew that had a pool, and we swam and paddled about naked;
When I go to Wreck Beach, necessarily on vacation because I don't live in Vancouver, and wade out a hundred yards at low tide before it's deep enough to swim (both in the old days, when it was pretty much everybody naked, and now that it's only some of the crowd);
When I swam naked at Le Layet in France, where it was de facto naturist, or if I had gone out to Ile du Levant, where it's more rigidly so;
all of those were skinnydipping as far as I'm concerned. To take posts here as an example, using my own to not step on anybody else's toes, the first item in #477 was in reply to a request (though it wasn't the sequence he was thinking of!), and, as the rest of the linked series seems to show, the people in the boat were apparently going to or coming from skinnydipping. The underwater picture shows what I'd allow as a slight exception to the nakedness criterion: being bottomless. The third one shows a skinnydip about to take place, the fifth and sixth show the woman who was skinnydipping in the fourth, floating naked on a raft. The seventh is of two women whom I interpreted, rightly or wrongly, to be drying off and warming up after a skinnydip, and the last a woman starting hers. Since what you'd see while someone is actually swimming (especially if underwater pictures are excluded) is pretty limited, I'd also include the time just before and after, going to and from the water. If that seems unreasonable to more people than yourself, I'd be happy to use Nude Vacation Pics or Life's a Beach for that sort of posting. Anybody else out there care to weigh in?

Is was not my intention to start an argument here because its not really that important. I personally don't have a precise definition of "skinny dip", nor do I think its that useful to have one. However, I know a "skinny dip" pic when I see one. Some of the characteristics of a skinny dip pic are:
The action takes place in ISOLATED areas, away from other people who may be swimsuited or naked.
It is relatively spontaneous, not planned in advance (like a vacation is planned)
There is often some embarrassment, but not always.
50 percent of the time, it takes place at night.
Participants are often in various states of undress.
Participants are generally not what you would call naturists who do this habitually or who would do this around complete strangers.
The camera work is haphazard and may often miss the best action. Often pics look voyeurish or subjects are far away.
Anything else can go in other threads. The simple problem is that pics that don't fit this narrow description are so numerous they would quickly swamp this thread. So its not so much a question of whether these other pics are "Skinny dipping" pics or not - its just that for convenience, some separation of these from the ones that fit the narrower description is desirable (to me, at any rate).
Skinny dipping in the classic sense (narrow definition) is sort of a rogue activity that predates naturism. I don't consider everyone that swims naked nowadays to be skinny dipping. Certainly not if they're at a nude beach, etc
