Don't waste your time recording off your TV, the pictures suck
.. Not knowing what camera you have, if it has cable jacks on it, I would just rerecord the video from VHS to your video camera. Most newer cameras will plug into your computer via the firewire port, and it is simple to capture from there. You lose a little bit between VHS and the camera, but it will still be a lot better then trying to record off the TV screen.
