That said, I think it's also important to encourage and thank those good, good folks who take the time to post on-topic stuff. I will continue to call 'em as I see 'em as long as Alex lets me.

SC, you touched on a key point: respect. If someone takes the time to post pics or vids and share them with the rest of us, I think that the least we can do is respect their effort and give them kudos or if (for whatever reason) we don't like the post be courteous and hit the back button. Most of the criticisms of posts that I've seen on this board, even those relating to KITT, were polite (ie. along the lines of "I don't really like that vid" or whatever)
In reality, however, what does posting a criticism of a vid really accomplish? It is not like we are writing scholarly works or making policy decisions here (that's Alex's job) where criticisms are a necessary part of the process of producing better works. We post pics and vids that we come across that appeal to us and that we want to share with others. That is the reasoning behind my "praise for posts I like; back button for posts I don't" approach; it has nothing to do with debates or censorship and everything to do about respect, politeness, and keeping this board going.
