Default Oh Hogs and heifers how I miss thee

This was truly one of the greatest bars I have ever been in and I'm comparing it to places like the limelight when richie rich used play simon seez, and the old days at the mud club and Max'x kansas city.

I am suprised the poster who ordered a soda got a beer. The barmaids must of been in a good mood that night because normally you would have been thrown out.

The one I went to was down on 13th street and Washington. The uptown place was a joke. The downtown place was where the owners hung out-Dell one of the owners along with his wife died at the 13th street one and that pretty much when it went down hill.

Coyote ugly was Hogs and heifers light/ No one went there. After about 2000 Hogs and heifers was over, I didn't even stop in for a nostalgic drink anymore and I don't even know if it's still there.

As to when things like what happened in the photos tended to happen, they tened to happen during the week. The place was full of lame wanna bees on Friday and Saturday. The best night was Thursday. Plus I knew must of the bartenders and they tended to get the place hopping only when they saw it was mostly regulars and not lamo frat boys.

But you would ussually see at least two topless woman on the bar dancing every night. Usually it was a quick dance to one song then a quick flash but alot of girl were more adventurous and stayed on the bar topless for a long time, even making out with each other.

But like all good things it's time has come and gone. It makes you really miss old time new york before gulianai and bloomberg sucked all the fun out of it and made it fascist town.

I remeber on the coner of hogs and heifers there was always the transvestite and transexual hookers but all the yuppies who moved into the meatpacking disctrict made sure they got kicked out and all the good bars got closed down so the asshole yuppies could destroy yet another neighborhood so they could get cheap apartment and good sleeping hours. Yet another neighborhood gone forever never to come back. Just like they did to williamsburg.

Sorry for going on so long but when you love a city like NYC they way I do and I'm a native New Yorker, you hate when these transplants come and destroy it.

But thanks for the photos. They reminded me that there was once a time when NYC was a fun place to be.
