I've seen rating systems over in other forums where the value of a poster is determined by the responses to his threads. Every poster has a number under his name that increases as his "value" increases. Another benefit of the thank you feature is that it works sort of like that, or at least can tell someone a little about the poster and how popular his submissions are.
I am really tempted now to bump a lot of my old threads and see what happens  Mods be aware - a lot of bumping like that might go on in the next few weeks....

But then, I think we'd really start taking away from what OCC is all about. I must say though, that I was recently called one of the best top three posters at OCC by a very senior member. *patting self profuciously on the back*
