If you try to run the clips with an older version the avi will stick or hang halfway through.
It's well worth the effort as the high quality of DivX AVI's are far better than wmv's.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, they simply don't work for me (and apparantly some others). I am running Windows XP professional. I installed the codecs exactly as they were meant to be, and subsequently, most divX stuff plays fine for me. However, there is a small collection of .avi files encoded with divX that simply don't play properly. There's no real discernable pattern, other than they are all divX files.
