In fairness, we have seen both sides of this. Location, time of day, alcohol, etc., all play a part.
We enjoy displaying and playing in public, and depending venue, assumptions are made that that touching (or more) is permitted. In our case, it is not. That is where the friction begins and being able to control the situation is key.
Our approach that we learned early on is to think things through. Be sure to understand your boundaries and abilities. Situational awareness and an honest assessment of your abilities matter to ensure everyone enjoys themselves and gets home safe.
