but basic idea that less photos and less online footprint encourages more female particpation isnt necessarily the case.
i would guess for portland on a per capita basis blows every other wnbr out the water eg london is a city of 10 plus million and central focus point vs an isolated smallish city way out on the west coast. so for portland seen as less as odd people freak show or older men, and more like a general carnival eg once a threshold of gen pop is reached for participation it becomes normalised to take part, also that it happens at dusk.
But there are probably factors other than lack of photographers at event or online dissemination means women are more encouraged to participate i would argue for uk rides that along with most organiser being much older and men and so lacking digital literacy and what women find endearing means ratio of women in uk wnbr i would say is worst ever, again i recall at most 5 fully nude 18-35 women at the lincoln inn stop way below what is claimed for portland.
