I definitely remember those days. You couldn’t get anything overly risky at the local photomat.
About 1990/1991, we were only married a few years. My wife and I went to one of the couples resorts up in the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania. There were about 5 or 6 then. They all went bankrupt by the 2000’s. They were advertised on TV all the time from NYC down to Philadelphia area, and Delaware. They were not nude or swap places, but just focused on couples and newlyweds.
One night during the after dinner show, the emcee made an announcement saying they had a staff photographer group that could come to your room and take naughty pictures and have them developed or could develop your film onsite. This was because you couldn’t get them developed at home.
Somehow I convinced my wife to have the photographer come to our room. Before she could change her mind, I reserved a time slot. We both polished off a bottle of wine before he arrived to keep our courage. We had him take solo pictures of of her, and then us together. The pictures came out really good. I can only imagine what this guy and the other photographers saw. I always wondered if they kept negatives of all the couples they saw. Not that we were models or pornstars.
Before anyone asks, we don’t have the pictures. Somewhere in the three home moves we lost the album. Either got thrown out accidentally or some random mover took it. I always think some pictures will show up on a vintage site. No luck yet, so probably was lost to the trash.
Thankfully digital came around not to much later.
