That was one of the advantages of the one I bought and used with my wife - it had variable speed control, so I could leave it throbbing away at a level that kept her a little distracted, but could also vary the speed induce momentary loss of controls sometimes.
The unexpected increase in vibration was my favourite bit, especially when she was dancing with someone else........
