Mum's friend
I almost feel ashamed at relating this story because the lady in question was truly a lady.
In my teens when I returned from school, I frequently found that my mother was entertaining a couple of neighbouring ladies to an afternoon cup of tea.
One of these ladies I found quite attractive; her name was Margaret and she was always very well presented. She sat opposite me with her legs crossed and I found myself always trying to catch a glimpse up her skirt. I guess it must have been obvious that I found her attractive, even though she was 20 years my senior, because my mother made vaguely discouraging remarks about her. I guessed that her marriage might have been unfulfilling as she had no children.
Many years later it happened that I met her when she and I were visiting my mother who was in hospital and I had a hug from her; I realised that there was more than just a little affection in that hug. There was a genuine yearning and it left a poignant impression on me. But what could I have done? I was married in middle 40s and she was?
