You're actually spot on. They aren't totally dead, but they are definitely becoming rare.

It mostly comes down to a few things:

Back in the day, student contracts were very loose and photoshoot sets weren't strictly controlled, which is why a lot of 'unofficial' material used to leak out.

social media algorithms instantly ban accounts that try to promote them, and even major search engines now block or heavily filter these kinds of searches, making them impossible to find.

students today are paranoid (rightfully so) about future job hunts and facial recognition.

For us fans of the genre, we really need to hold onto the historic calendars we have and share those rare ones that are impossible to find now.
As for the few new ones still being made, they will probably be way more conservative/censored, with zero chance of finding RAW files or behind-the-scenes content like we used to."
