Completely agree with your 3 points.
I had an OCC account prior to 2020 that I did not really use much and pretty much disappeared for 6 yrs. Having returned in 2026 I now do see clearly the three points you make. I have found a few other accounts I know from flickr and so it doesn't feel so unknown with mlcupple and krysto.bea and a few others.
